About the Shop
Located in beautiful southern Lancaster County, Pa., Our fly fishing shop is 3 miles from the West Branch of the Octararo Creek. The shop has been in operation since 1995. We are a small shop that caters to the customer. We are service oriented. We still believe that the customer is always right. If you have a question about any of the streams in this area, they will be answered to the best of our knowledge. We don't charge for information. If you want to stop in and visit, we are always ready to sit down and talk. If there is something you want and we don't have it, we will order if possible. We support the novice and experienced tier and fishing person. We support Trout Unlimited. We accept Visa/MC. We also have gift certificates for those special occasions. Jim Smeltz has been fishing since he was 6 years old. He started Fly Fishing and Tying in 1973. He started the shop when there were very few fly-fishing shops in the area. He has taken lessons from Joe Humphrey & George Harvey. Jim Bucher became a partner 5 years later. He is very active in helping to stock fish and is involved in several organizations that raise Trout for our area. He has also taken lessons from Joe Humphrey. Both Jims love a good fishing story and have a few to tell. We have a small corner with chairs and a gas stove for anyone who wants to come in, sit in front of the stove and relax after a hard day of fishing. |
